Just as we released an episode on the challenges of preaching in the morally and politically embattled state of California, a series of sudden wildfires erupted, quickly escalating into dozens of blazes that engulfed various parts of the state. In this episode, Dan and Chris return to the mic to reflect on the physical and emotional toll of the devastation, analyze what may have gone wrong, and examine the belief some have that the fires are a manifestation of divine judgment.
As fire crews continue to battle the flames, and victims begin to deal with the loss, Chris and Dan discuss the message believers can bring during times of hardship. They challenge Christians to examine their own hearts and consider how to spiritually prepare for the inevitable storms that life in the wilderness will bring. They express the need to pray that those affected begin to heal and turn to Christ for hope and restoration.
