Partakers of Grace - Phil 1

Preaching from Philippians 1, Pastor Chris Gordon asks why so many people drift from the church, and finds the answer somewhere other than doctrinal disagreement. Most people today approach a congregation the way they approach everything else in a consumer culture — as a product measured by whether it makes them happy. Drawing on Dietrich Bonhoeffer's warning that the person who loves his dream of community more than the people in front of him destroys the very thing he longs for, the sermon argues that the church is not a place of our choosing but a people God has actually given.
