Show Notes

In this AGR Special, Rev. Chris Gordon preaches on the "crisis of faith" presented in Psalm 73. He examines the deep spiritual conflict that arises when our observations of the world—where the arrogant and wicked often live in ease and prosperity—seem to contradict the biblical truth of God's goodness. Gordon highlights how Asaph’s feet had "almost stumbled" until he entered the sanctuary of God, where his perspective was radically shifted from temporary earthly circumstances to eternal realities.

Drawing from the Belgic Confession and the honest laments of the Psalter, Gordon encourages listeners to bring their honest doubts and afflictions before the Lord. He explains that while the wicked are set in "slippery places" leading to ruin, the believer’s portion is God Himself, who holds our right hand and guides us with His counsel. This message serves as a powerful reminder that God is the strength of our hearts and our portion forever, regardless of the trials we face.
