Rev. Dr. Jon D. Payne serves as the organizing pastor of Christ Church Presbyterian in Charleston, South Carolina. He previously served for ten years as pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church in Douglasville, GA. He is the Executive Coordinator of the Gospel Reformation Network, and a trustee of Westminster Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Newcastle, UK.
Dr. Payne is series co-editor of the Lectio Continua Expository Commentary on the New Testament and the author/editor of numerous books including John Owen and the Lord’s Supper (Banner of Truth, 2004), In the Splendor of Holiness: Rediscovering the Beauty of Reformed Worship for the 21st Century, A Faith Worth Teaching: The Heidelberg Catechism’s Enduring Heritage, and A Faith Worth Defending: The Synod of Dort’s Enduring Heritage. Dr. Payne and his wife Marla reside in Mt. Pleasant, SC with their two teenage children, Mary Hannah and Hans.
Dr. Godfrey has taught church history at Westminster Seminary California since 1981 and served as the seminary’s third president from 1993 to 2017. He previously taught at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, Stanford University, and Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. He is a minister in the United Reformed Churches in North America, a Ligonier Ministries Teaching Fellow, and has spoken at many conferences including those sponsored by the Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization, the Philadelphia Conference on Reformed Theology, and Ligonier Ministries. He is currently serving as chairman of the Board of Ligonier Ministries, a position he took over from the late Dr. R.C. Sproul.
