What Is Masculinity? Part Two- With Dan Borvan

Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. James 1 verses 19 and 20 are a few of the many verses that come to mind during this conversation as Rev. Dan Borvan and Pastor Chris Gordon continue on the topic of masculinity. They dig deeper into the Christian role of male leadership and examine the biblical qualities of manhood. They recognize the emotion of anger as a reaction of weakness, while patience and self-control reflect genuine spiritual strength. As the world goes to work on feminizing men, Dan and Chris share a reminder to honor the way God created us, to follow His word, and to always look to the perfect life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as the ultimate model of what a man truly is.

Rev. Dr. Daniel Borvan is pastor of preaching ministry at Christ Reformed Church. His responsibilities are to “preach the Word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching” (2 Timothy 4:2).

Daniel earned his Master of Divinity degree from Westminster Seminary California in 2011. As a student at Westminster Seminary he learned that all study of Scripture, theology, and church history is put into practice in the worship and work of the church. The goal is to glorify Christ by serving His church. At Westminster Seminary he also earned a Master of Arts degree in Historical Theology. His thesis paper was on Faustus Socinus.
Daniel is chairman of the Heidelberg Reformation Association. Some of his published articles are on the Heidelblog website. Daniel was installed as pastor of preaching ministry at Christ Reformed Church September 29, 2023. Daniel is married to Marcy and they have two daughters and a son.
