Show Notes

Psalm 2 reveals that the world's restlessness and rebellion against God — seen in wicked rulers, cultural chaos, and hostility toward Christ — is not cause for fear but is answered by God's laughter from His throne and His installation of Christ as King over all nations. The resurrection and ascension of Jesus fulfilled this psalm, proving that all earthly opposition to God is futile, as Christ now reigns far above every power and will return to judge the wicked. Yet the psalm closes with a surprising plea of mercy: kings and nations are called to "kiss the Son" — to submit to Christ in faith — because those who take refuge in Him are blessed and will escape the coming judgment.

Chris Gordon and Dr. R. Scott Clark respond to a recent critique of law and gospel preaching. They explain what the distinction actually is, where it gets abused, and why abandoning it leaves congregations under the covenant of works.
Whom Shall I Fear?
David's confidence in the Lord is not theory but experience — a life of deliverances read backward. Psalm 27 moves from unshakable joy to raw lament and back to a promise: wait on the Lord, and He will strengthen your heart.
Is Roman Catholicism Right About Tradition? - Part 2
Dr. W. Robert Godfrey joins Pastor Chris Gordon in part 2 of a conversation about "tradition" — from the Bible's own positive use of the word to Rome's claims of an unwritten apostolic deposit — and why every tradition, Protestant or Catholic, must ultimately answer to Scripture.
Where Are the Nine? | Luke 17:11–19 - Lectio Continua
Ten lepers cry out to Jesus for mercy and are all healed — but only one, a Samaritan, turns back to give thanks. Pastor Chris Gordon asks what separates outward healing from true, saving faith.
Is Roman Catholicism Right About Tradition? - Part 1
Dr. W. Robert Godfrey joins Pastor Chris Gordon to examine Rome's appeal to 2 Thessalonians 2:15 and its claim to preserve unwritten apostolic tradition.
Reconciliation with God
In this preparation sermon for the Lord's Supper, Pastor Chris Gordon draws from the reunion of Jacob and Esau to show that genuine reconciliation with our brothers and sisters flows from being first reconciled to God through Christ.
