You’ve probably heard these inspirational phrases countless times. In this week’s episode, guest Rev. Dr. Daniel Borvan joins Pastor Chris Gordon to discuss how to balance these constant messages of self with the truth of being content in Jesus Christ. They discuss how easy it can be to want more, during the good times and the bad, and address how lack of trust in the Lord can lead to anxiety and discontent. They turn to the Bible and the writings of the Apostle Paul to address contentment on the job, in a marriage and in family life. Rev. Dr. Daniel Borvan is pastor of preaching ministry at Christ Reformed Church.  His responsibilities are to “preach the Word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching” (2 Timothy 4:2).

Daniel earned his Master of Divinity degree from Westminster Seminary California in 2011.  As a student at Westminster Seminary he learned that all study of Scripture, theology, and church history is put into practice in the worship and work of the church.  The goal is to glorify Christ by serving His church. At Westminster Seminary he also earned a Master of Arts degree in Historical Theology. His thesis paper was on Faustus Socinus.

In 2019 Daniel went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy in Theology from Oxford University in England.  His interest was on the French Reformation which prompted him to write his doctoral dissertation on Pierre Du Moulin, "Fighting For The Faith: Pierre Du Moulin's Polemical Quest."  He recently gave a presentation on the perseverance of theFrench Reformation Church at Providence Christian College.

Daniel is chairman of the Heidelberg Reformation Association. Some of his published articles are on the Heidelblog website. Daniel was installed as pastor of preaching ministry at Christ Reformed ChurchSeptember 29, 2023. Daniel is married to Marcy and they have two daughters and a son.
