The Lord is described as our light, salvation, and stronghold, giving confidence to face fear, enemies, and hardship without dismay. David's one desire is to dwell in the Lord's house and behold His beauty, finding there the strength that sustains him through trials. Even when overwhelmed and crying out for mercy, he resolves to wait on the Lord, take courage, and trust that he will see God's goodness in the land of the living.
